Atlantica Online is an acclaimed MMORPG that sets itself ahead of the pack with some innovative features. Foremost is a surprisingly rapid turn-based combat system that hearkens back to the early days of RPGs but placed in a modern, massive, environment.
To alleviate the boredom of one-on-one combat, there is a unique mercinaries feature that allows you to add to your fighting party as you progress.
Rounding it all out is an intriguing backstory that puts you on a path to find the lost city of Atlantis, globe-trotting around ancient Earth. The auto-run is much loved as you trek fom Asia to the Middle East to Europe in a truly wide open environment to explore.
Some complain that the easy monster battles make it too simple to level up. However, the high level game is still filled with guild-based wars for control of cities, or even nations. Also unexpected is the lack of character customization (few choices in too few categories).
